Core-Selective Evaluation Process (C-SEP) is an efficient and comprehensive approach to identify students with Specific Learning Disability (SLD) by determining a pattern of strengths and weaknesses. The methodology leverages the collection of multiple sources of data, and when necessary, the core tests from assessments such as the Woodcock-Johnson (WJ) IV, Wechsler or Kaufman Batteries, as a means of generating a comprehenisve understanding learning and behavior. When the data indicates a possible weakness, or that more data must be collected to make a decision, additional "selective" and targeted assessments are conducted to acquire greater breadth in measurement in an area of cognition or linguistic competency or in a domain of achievement.
